About Cannabis Concentrates: Bubble Hash, Wax, & Badder

It’s 2022, and we’re certainly in the middle of the cannabis ‘boom’ here in the United States, and especially in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

As more affordable cannabis hits the market, newer innovations and products such as concentrates are also on the rise.

Concentrates are beginning to make their presence felt. This is due to their more desired properties as well as their various forms.

Thanks to these properties, innovations in production, and better large-batch creation methods, the concentrate sector of the cannabis market stands to become massive in the not-so-distant future.

What are ‘cannabis concentrates’?

First, concentrates (also known as ‘extracts’) are sticky, waxy, or oily substances produced from the trichomes of the cannabis plant.

Trichomes are the tiny hair-like pieces that cover the plant, giving it a crystal coating.

They contain compounds such as cannabinoids and terpenes. This gives cannabis its range of effects.

Concentrates are deeply packed with everything we love about the cannabis plant. They are rising in popularity due to the variety of methods of formulation, processing, and consumption.

Some common methods include water extraction (bubble hash), heat and pressure extraction (hash rosin), and chemical extraction.

Furthermore, chemical extraction can produce a wide variety of consistencies coming in many forms.

What is ‘bubble hash’?

Secondly, bubble hash is a type of hashish made by using an ice water extraction process. This is sometimes referred to as ‘ice hash’ or ‘ice water hash’.

Similar to hash rosin, bubble hash is another high-quality cannabis concentrate made without the use of solvents.

The result is a highly refined. It’s almost powdery hash that literally bubbles when you run a flame near it.

To make bubble hash, cannabis flower is added to large bags of ice water called “bubble bags”. It is then agitated – which freezes and then breaks the resin glands from the flower.

These broken glands contain essential compounds found in trichomes that will move through a series of screens while the plant material is left behind. This in turn forms bubble hash.

Society carries one of our favorite bubble hash brands: Garden Remedies. Their hash delivers substantial THC levels, cannabinoids, and terpenes, giving you a direct path to the real flavor and effects of cannabis flower.

What is ‘wax’?

Next, wax is an umbrella term that refers to a potent cannabis concentrate that is agitated during the extraction process.

More specifically, wax is named for its appearance and texture. It has a non-transparent appearance accompanied by a thick, wax-like consistency.

Oftentimes, the consistency and texture of wax will have an extensive range. It can be gooey or creamy, all the way to having a harder and flakey texture.

Wax can be made using a variety of different production techniques. Some of these include butane or hydrocarbon extraction.

It is most popularly consumed by means of dabbing. It can also be added to joints, bowls, or blunts for more potency and flavor.

Cannabis connoisseurs looking to experience superior flavor will be pleased with our Sira Naturals wax products.

Our wax products here at Society offer a dense substance with copious amounts of trichomes. Therefore they provide a potent experience paired with highly-concentrated THC percentages.

What is ‘badder’?

Last but not least, we’ve got badder. According to Leafly

“Badder, also called batter, is a cannabis concentrate named for its malleable consistency that resembles frosting or a thick cake batter. High quality badder/batter is often golden or blond in color.”
